Downbeat Music Lessons’ policies have been developed to encourage and promote the joyful study of music in our students. If you have any questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or submit a question using the Contact form.
All students must give a 30-day written withdrawal notice prior to cancelling lessons.
Payment and Calculation of Tuition
Monthly tuition is based on a 48-week year, with 48 scheduled lessons per year. We are closed four weeks a year for holidays and do not charge for these weeks. In the long month, you will have five lessons; in short months, you will have three lessons. (Most months will have four lessons.) The tuition is the same for each month. (See our Rates & Services for more information.)
Invoices will be sent out on the first day of each month. Payment is due at that time. A three day grace period will be allowed; however, after the three-day grace period, a ten dollar ($10) late fee will be billed and/or applied to the outstanding balance.
Tardiness and Make-up Classes
Downbeat Music Lessons’ polices have been developed to encourage and promote the joyful study of music in our students. Therefore, regular attendance by students is expected. Students who arrive late cannot be guaranteed a full class/lesson.
Should you need to cancel a class, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled lesson. If a class is canceled at least 24 hours in advance, the student is eligible for a make-up class at the earliest convenience of the teacher. If a class is canceled after the required 24 hr notice, make-up classes are at the discretion of the teacher. Each student is eligible for two make-up classes per month. If a student fails to attend a lessons, and does not contact us within the time frame specified above, no make-up lesson will be given, and the student will be charged for the missed class.
Make-up classes missed by a student for any reason will not be rescheduled or refunded. Students who withdraw forfeit any make-up classes they are owed.
School Closings – Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather, Downbeat Music Lessons makes decisions regarding closures independently of local school districts. If classes are cancelled, we will notify students via telephone and email, along with posting updates on the website.
Care of Students and Personal Property
Parents, guardians, and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal lesson activity, or any other activity conducted by the students before, during, or after class.
Downbeat Music Lessons reserves the right to dismiss any student due to frequent absences, disciplinary problems, overdue tuition payments and/or parental noncompliance with Downbeat Music Lesson policies.
